The pitch was hosted by Founder’s Hub as part of the exclusive Utah StartFEST. The prize money is bankrolled by top venture capital firm, Pelion, who announced Edify.ai the winner after a 45-minute deliberation.

“We’re super excited!” Cory Linton, CEO of Edify.ai said on live-streamed radio with OneLOVECharlene.com on iHeartRadio, 105.9 KNRS and 99.1 Bloomberg Business stations in Salt Lake City, UT.

Edify.ai is a worker-centric, intelligence driven, interactive safety application that is hyper-focused on helping employees remain safety conscious, improve productivity, and experience a new motivational safety culture. The app is data-rich with real time analytics for extensive risk assessment and deployment of effective tools by management for immediate and long term safety results.

Edify.ai also announced that a number of top construction companies like Mortensen, who is building out data centers for FaceBook, has implemented the safety app to its construction workforce.

“We've got software that works and we're implementing it with customers,” Linton said. “We spent three years dialing it in, to ensure workers were getting the right safety experience with the Edify application. Now we just finalized a big deal with FaceBook to roll out Edify.ai across all their construction sites,” he confirmed.

Edify claims that customers using its safety software have reported significant reductions in costs related to workplace injuries as well as sizable savings in man-hours lost. Linton said, “we’re getting very good response from frontline workers that they find the Edify app to be a better way to do safety.”

Edify.ai is seeking to raise $2M. “There are always risks when it comes to investing in startups,” Linton reminded listeners and viewers. “But, with a top VC firm vested in us, this means anyone can consider investing in us, with as little as $150 through our crowd-funding partner https://republic.co/edify.

The $250K cash prize from Pelion is in the form of a convertible note, effective with the first round of funding with traditional venture funding terms. Linton told OneLOVECharlene.com that the prize money was primarily slated for sales and marketing. “This money,” Linton says, “will be used to grow our brand, drive involvement, and put our safety app in more hands.”
